JOB DESCRIPTION
• Seek new profitable businesses by applying strong technical selling skills and knowledge
• Part of the technical pre-sales team with focus in the areas of:
o Technical consulting
o Systems Engineering
• Technical consulting component of the job requires extensive technical discussions, educations, tutorials, demonstrations to convince customers about the products, solutions and services of Tellabs offerings.
• Systems engineering component of the job requires extensive hands on skills in putting together a working system applicable to customers’ unique environment and applications, perform proof of concept tests to demonstrate all capabilities discussed during the phases of technical consultation.
• Part of the sales team and participate in business strategies and directions
• Seek and maintain customer relationships with key people within customers organization
• Identify and qualify opportunities for new businesses to help Tellabs business to remain focus and profitable
REQUIREMENTS:
• 5-10 years experience
• Deeply technical and extremely familiar with a wide range of telecommunications data technologies
• Deep theoretical and working knowledge on various data technologies – current technologies, up and coming technologies and legacy technologies. Key competence areas include but not limited to:
o L3 and L2 MPLS – VPLS, PWE3, IP-VPN
o Carrier Ethernet – 802.1D, 802.1Q, 802.1ad, 802.1ah, 802.3ad, 802.3ah, ELMI, ETHOAM, 802.1ag, PBB, PBB-TE, H-VPLS, VPLS
o PNNI, AINI, LMI, ATM OAM, ATM traffic management
o OSPF, OSPF-TE, ISIS, ISIS-TE, BGP, MP-BGP, RSVP-TE, LDPoRSVP, LDP QoS
• Hands on experience and skills in configuring and troubleshooting equipment and networks. Excellent troubleshooting skills.
• Industry expertise with major vendors of networking equipment that support services similar to the Tellabs products. Industry experience working in telecommunications operator, in the areas of network design and planning, testing and implementation.
• Has had extensive customer relationship experience and demonstrates excellent customer services skills through issue resolution and proposed solutions.
• Honest and trusted by customers, recognized as trusted advisor.
• Uses skills as a seasoned, experienced professional with a full understanding of industry practices and company policies and procedures
• Demonstrates business acumen and solid presentation skills.
• Recognized as a subject matter expert in a product area and provides technical ownership.
• Ability to apply knowledge in necessary applications and on applicable Tellabs products.
• Knowledge application and transfer of 3rd party vendor products when applicable.
Desired Requirements:
• Some project management skills with moderate experience in business management.
• Requirement of CCIP or CCIE
